Find out which Surface model you have

There are several ways to find out which Surface device model you have.

Look in the Surface app

Look in Settings

Look in System information

Look at devices associated with your Microsoft account

Look in the Surface app

The easiest way to find which Surface model you have is to use聽the Surface app. It shows the model name of your Surface device and each Surface accessory.

Note:聽When signed in to the Surface app, you can see information for other Surface devices that you've also signed in to.聽

Open the Surface app

In the Surface app, expand Device information and look at the value next to Surface model.

Note:聽If you don't have the Surface app installed, you can download the Surface app from the Microsoft Store. When it has downloaded, select Start , search for Surface, then select the app from the list of results.

Look in Settings

Select聽Start聽聽>聽Settings聽聽> System聽, then scroll down and select About聽.

Look near the top of the window鈥攁bove Device specifications鈥攖o find the Surface model information.Shows the device info near the top of the window, under the screen title.

Look in System information

Select Start聽, type聽system聽in the search box, then select System Information from the list of results.

Look for System Model in the pane on the right.Shows System model information in the pane on the right.

Look at devices associated with your Microsoft account

Go to account.microsoft.com/devices.

Sign in to your Microsoft account, and under聽Devices,聽select Manage Devices to view your associated devices.

If you're already signed in,聽your associated devices may聽automatically open for you to view.聽
